For NeShama Bonneau, Palmetto Future Scholars is more than an early learning center. It’s a way to give back to the community that helped shape her life.

As a North Charleston native, she has always felt a deep connection to this community. The people, families, and opportunities that shaped her own journey inspired a desire to give back in a meaningful way. Throughout her career as a Registered Nurse, she witnessed firsthand the importance of strong foundations, support systems, and opportunities that help people thrive. But as she looked toward the future, she felt called to make an impact even earlier, during the years when a child’s potential is just beginning to unfold.

Driven by a growing passion for child development, Neshama made the decision to return to school to study the fascinating world of early childhood education. As she immersed herself in the research, she became increasingly inspired by the incredible brain development that occurs during the first years of life and the profound influence those early experiences have on future learning, confidence, relationships, and success.

That journey deepened her belief that high-quality early childhood education has the power to shape futures, not just for individual children, but for families and entire communities.

As both a healthcare professional and a mother, she understands the trust families place in those who care for their children. She envisioned a place where children would be nurtured, encouraged to ask questions, inspired to explore, and given the opportunities they need to grow.

That vision became Palmetto Future Scholars.

Rooted in research-based evidence and inspired by the remarkable science of early childhood development, Palmetto Future Scholars was created to provide high-quality, future-forward learning experiences that prepare children not only for kindergarten, but for life. Through curiosity-driven learning, STEM-focused exploration, meaningful relationships, and intentional care, children are empowered to become confident thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.

Just like the palmetto tree, South Carolina’s enduring symbol of strength and resilience, Neshama hopes Palmetto Future Scholars will grow deep roots within the North Charleston community and make a lasting impact for generations to come.

Because when we invest in children, we invest in the future.

Welcome to Palmetto Future Scholars.

We’re honored to be part of your family’s journey.
